Go on an interesting tour of Danish and Scandinavian history from a Danish perspective. Packed with insight into Danish history and culture.
- Enjoy a guided tour of the Kronborg Castle, (the real Hamlet Castle). The Kronborg Castle dates back 600 years to the time of the Kalmar Union and architecture for which it became famous in the 1700s century.
- Have the opportunity to, on your hand explore the magnificent renaissance place of Frederiksborg built in the 1700 century by one of the most famous kings of at that time, the dual monarchy of Denmark-Norway.
- Let our guide introduce you to the Roskilde Cathedral where almost all Christian Danish kings are buried. A UNESCO Heritage site dating 1000 years back.
- The day ends at the very coast of Roskilde Fjord. This is where the Viking Ship Museum is located. Outdoors in the summer, you can watch how a replicate Viking ship is made in the small Viking Shipyard. Inside the Viking Ship Museum, there are on display Viking shipwrecks found in the very fjord where the museum is situated. The museum also has a nice little gift shop to get that special thing that defines this visit.
- You will be on a guided tour of Kronborg Castle, and Roskilde Cathedral.

- The tour guide will take you to visit the real Castle of Shakespeares' Hamlet.
- Here at Kronborg, you will be introduced to Danish history concerning the Kronborg Castle with a history back to the Kalmar Union to the end of the dual Monarchy of Denmark-Norway, back before the mid-1900 century.
- On the way from Kronborg to Hillerod, the tour will take you through the beautiful North Zealand landscape with forests and small villages.
- Arriving in the town of Hillerod, there is a 2-hour stop.
- You will have time to on your own hand experience the incredible Frederiksborg Renaissance Palace.
- And this will also be the place to have lunch.
- After Hillerød the tour goes to the larger town Roskilde for the last stop of the day.
- At Roskilde Cathedral you will have a guided tour. Getting some of the history of the cathedral, seeing some of the most distinct Christian monarch's graves, and getting some of their footprint on Danish history.
- Also in Roskilde, you will be brought to the coast of Roskilde Fjord (bay of Roskilde).
- This is where the Vikings Ship Museum is located.
- Right, there is a shipyard and a small harbor full of reconstructed Viking ships. At least in the summer period from April till the end of September. Where we sometimes are lucky to see a replicated Viking Ship cruising on the water of the fjord.
Pickup information:
Pickup is provided from most hotels in the central part of Copenhagen and the cruise terminal. And is included in the fare.
- Pickups are impossible at hotels without parking for the bus private accommodation and Airbnb. Or locations around city hall square.
- If pickup can not be provided at your accommodation, you will be offered alternatives not to fare from you.
- Please note pickup begins up to 45 minutes before the announced tour starts.

Other worth to know information regarding the tour:
- Info-tainment!, that's what we call it. Not so many facts that you lose yourself in years, Kings, and wars. And neither so humor and fun that it becomes a comedy.
But a gentle mix of facts presented in an easy-going way and a twinkle in the eyes, by our excellent driver and guide. - Your driver will be English speaking and also guide you at both Kronborg Castle and the cathedral of Roskilde.
- You will not miss out on your daily tour of the fitness center. No need for cardio exercise on this day. 10000 steps are reached before the end of the day, and you will have to walk up spiral staircases in medieval Castles, cross cobblestone-covered streets, and walkways to get to the site.
- And with a lot of fresh air and a taste of the Danish weather. So for clothing, do as the Danes say; "There is no bad weather, just the wrong clothing!"
Lunch is not included. But we can assist you to find lunch at a nice local café with both Danish and international lunch classics. Or if you prefer, a stroll of the local walking street might provide other lunch options.
BE AWARE
- People in wheelchairs or using walking frames or walkers should not choose this tour. Cane users, please be aware that wet cobblestones are extremely slippery.
- Entering the Viking Ships or walking on the piers at the Viking Ship Museum is at your own risk. As the surfaces might be slippery and tare and other materials the pier and ships are made of my rub on your clothing.
- Please note, that the driver might refuse you on the tour, should you, despite our recommendation choose this tour. In this case, no refund will be granted.
