Sightseeing Day Out of Copenhagen

Fra EUR 160,00 €
  • Sted: Frederikssund
  • Produkt kode: PHXEXG

The sightseeing tour offers you the opportunity to explore and focus on the things you find the most interesting at each of the sites the bus stops at.

  • There will be a folder on board the bus as a basic intro to each site. This folder is in English, Spanish, French, and Hindi. It is a bring-along item.
  • The tour can be a little challenging for individuals relying heavily on working aids or people with severe working limitations. As the location surely was built before handicap was something that architects worried about.
  • This is a non-guided tour.
  • The bus driver will show up at the entrance and bring along tickets and vouchers for a group entrance.

You will visit:

  • The Kronborg Castle dates back to the 1530s and was a significant architectural marvel when it was completed, so much so that Shakespeare used this for the background in his Hamlet & Ophelia.
  • At Kronborg Castle, you have 1½ hours to explore the castle and the exhibitions.

  • The Frederiksborg Palace is an amazing and almost too much Renaissance palace. It was built in the early 1600s by one of Denmark's most significant kings.
  • Today, the Frederiksborg Palace is open to the public and filled with all sorts of pictures, artifacts, and of course, the amazing architecture of a real Renaissance palace.
  • In the town of Hillerod, where the Frederiksborg Palace is located,
there is a 2½ stop so you have time to explore the palace and find lunch
along the central street in the town.
  • The Vikingship Museum has its shipyard where they built a replica Vikingship, and you can often see them sailing in the fjord (bay) of Roskilde in the summer.
  • The museum also houses wrecks of Viking ships that have been sunk in the bay around 1000 years ago.
  • In the summer, the whole area around the museum is a bustling area with different kinds of activities and exhibitions.
  • You are allowed to enter the replica Vikingships in the museum's small harbor. But it is at your own risk!
  • The last stop is a 2-hour visit to the Viking Ship Museum. Explore this museum at your pace and enjoy the gift shop on the way out to get the special thing that defines this visit.

Lunch is not included. But you can find lunch at a nice local café with both Danish and international lunch classics, or maybe a freshly made sandwich or pastry from the Danish-style bakery further up the same street in Hillerod. Or if you prefer, have a stroll on the local walking street for another lunch option.

Nice to know before you go:

  • No need for cardio exercise on this day. 8000 steps is reached before the end of the day, and you will have walked up spiral staircases in medieval castles, cobbled-stone covered streets.
  • The tour also offers a lot of fresh air and a taste of the Danish weather. So for clothing, do as the Danes say; There is no bad weather, just the wrong clothing!
  • The tour is NOT suitable for travelers who heavily rely on walking aids or wheelchairs. The transport is a coach, and the old palace and castle were not designed for people with walking disabilities.
  • Children under 6 years of age are not recommended for this tour.
  • There is no baby-seat in the bus under Danish traffic laws; babies must be seated in individual chairs while driving.
  • The bus driver has no certificate for assisting with working aids; thus, no insurance will cover any accident that happens due to his lack of knowledge.
  • BE AWARE, The tour might not be operated if there are fewer than 20 travelers.
