This small walk-around tour includes both Danish food classics and a bite of Copenhagen and Danish history for the things we pass on the way through the old city.

Food-related history from the past to the present.

The standard tour is for summer and fall. (May till end September)

There is a little different Christmas version, which focuses on Danish Christmas food. This version is from November to the end of December.

Depending on your hunger, the tour either begins around 1000 or 1200. Details will be worked out upon booking.

Duration around 2-3 hours.

The culinary part includes:

  • Danish open-faced sandwiches, smorgasbord, taste of a few classics, you don't want a full meal.
  • Danish-style hot dogs, a taste of different versions, again, you don't want a full meal.
  • A stop at the Danish-style bakery, for the early tour, is surely a Danish pastry and breakfast classic.
  • For the afternoon tour, it is afternoon style with Danish cream cakes and a Danish-like afternoon "tea" style cakes. Well, the Danes mostly have coffee instead of tea.
  • The last stop after a little more walking is a stop by the ice cream shop in the local food market. Ice cream served fresh, Danish Style.
  • Each stop includes some 3 different classics. Depending on the food items, some will be shared in pieces, others in individual portions. We don't do this to be "cheap", but for you to get as broad a palette of tastes as possible before getting too full.
  • Also, sour tastes, strong mustard, and non-sweet sauces are standard to accompany the foods.

The tour also includes:

  • While walking, the guide will tell us some of the history of the things we pass.
  • At each stop, the guide will tell the related Danish food history relating to the stop and the food being tasted.
  • Group size max. 6 persons.
