Viking Ships launch day, only April 5th

Embrace yourself for a day filled with Viking ships and Viking history.

This is truly a full-body experience in the tiny Viking ship harbor, Viking Shipyard, the Viking shipwrecks, the Viking food tasting, and Viking history.

Get answers to how the Vikings became so successful and what the innovation related to the Viking ships meant for Danish, Norwegian and the entire North's culture and trade.

• You will feel the outdoors there in the harbor and shipyard of the Viking Ship Museum.
• See both Viking shipwrecks and reconstructed Viking ships and sailing Viking ships (if the weather permits that day), smell the wood, saltwater, and ropes, and taste the Viking food.
• You will of course also have time on you own, to explore both in and mostly outside the Viking Ship museum amongst the reconstructed Viking Ship and in the shipyard where they reconstruct the Viking ships.
• Inside the Viking Ship museum, you will have time to walk around the almost 1000-year-old Viking Shipwrecks. And maybe find the perfect souvenir that, for you define this day, in the museum gifts shop.
• This tour also offers a taste of the Vikings' foods.  “Taste of the Vikings” (food)
• The museum Café has followed recipes and archaeological evidence and create a kind of buffet which allow you to taste food from the Viking era and of course also taste the Vikings brew, mjod.(mjød).
• The tour includes professional guide from the Viking ship Museum. Who will tell you about the Viking society, sailing, raids and trade of the Viking area. So feel free to ask question and hopefully get surprising and interesting answer to your question.
• Of course, time also set off, so you can enjoy the launch of the Viking Ship, almost like the Vikings themselves did, there in the tiny harbor at the bottom of the fjord(bay). Where you never, during your visit, is more than 50 meters from the sea, the museum staff and volunteers will launch the reconstructed Viking ships.
• One the route to the Viking ship Museum our driver will give the basic facts about the Kingdom of Denmark, which by the way dates ALL the way the back to the Vikings.

• Pickup is provided from most hotels in the central part of Copenhagen and the cruise terminal. And is included in the fare.

• Pickups are not possible at hotels without parking or private accommodation or at a central location near City Hall Square.

• If pickup can not be provided at your accommodation, you will be offered alternatives not to fare from you.

• If you are not a user of PayPal, payments can be made using the easy QR code in the gallery.

Other worth to know information regarding the tour:

• Your driver and guides will be English-speaking.
• Expect a lot of fresh air and a taste of the Danish weather. So for clothing, do as the Danes say; "There is no bad weather, just the wrong clothing!"
• Should you need more than what the "Taste of Vikings" can offer, the Café is fully equipped to serve you lunch and both warm and cold drinks during your stay.
• Besides the Café(see menu attached below) there is about 300 meters from the museum a small Danish-style Bakery which mostly has sandwiches and Danish pastry.
• You are welcome to bring your food, but it must be enjoyed outside in the setting area.

BE AWARE

• The tour has a minimum number of participants of 10 people. The tour is likely be canceled if that minimum is not met. A full refund will of course be made in that case.
• People in wheelchairs or users of walking frames can with care choose this tour. <<the wheelchairs and walking frames must be foldable >>
• Please NOTE, that the driver is NOT qualified to handle wheelchairs and walking frames.
• It's a bit of a walk around, so be prepared to walk both outside and inside. So wear footwear and clothing that matches this for this day.
• Entering the Viking Ships or walking on the piers at the Viking Ship Museum is at your own risk. As the surfaces might be slippery and tare and other materials at the pier and in the ships may rubb off on your clothing.
• Please be aware
• Free cancellation, (20) days before your booked tour. Cancellation less than 20 days before booked will resulted in only 30% refund of ticket price. This is due to the fee related to the booked museum guide and food tasting which.
• But please be advised that pickup and drop off in Copenhagen are not included in this time frame.
• English-speaking driver.
• Live and tour guides there will be speaking English.

Food and beverages

• The tour includes “Taste of the Vikings”.
• Please be advised that the food is prepared according to recipes and archaeological evidence.
• And back then the knowledge of allergy to gluten, nuts, milk etc. was non existing. Thus therefor the item might be part of the recipe.
• Also, the Vikings faith does not exclude certain types of meat and fish products and certainly not alcohol.
• Please ask the staff for advice regarding these items.
• Should you decide to refrain from this part of the tour, a deduction cannot be offered as the tour is a full package item.
• And legal drinking age in Denmark is 16 years of age for beer drinking. (for persons under 18 years of age it is of course always the parents who decide the consumption of alcohol)
• You are allowed to enter the replicated boat, but be careful it is at your own risk!
